It's not super fragile but don't yank on it and be rough with it. It's a silver chain and silver necklace cross. It's not a real diamond but it's a little diamond looking jewel towards the clasp where you attached the necklace. It comes in a kind of a neat little box or it's behind a clear plastic but it holds it it's not super sticky but it holds it so it doesn't move and bounce around. From my experience it's been a very beautiful necklace and it fits perfectly on my daughter and she really likes it! It's not a super long necklace. So I'm Happy with my purchase!
